Old ordnance | Child killed and another injured in Daraa city
SOHR activists documented the death of a 14-year-old boy and the injury of another due to the explosion of an old “lightning bolt” in Daraa city’s Al-Sahafa neighbourhood.
The two children have been transferred to a national hospital in Daraa city.
Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 143 civilians, including ten women and 65 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 221 civilians, including 12 women and 117 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
