Renewed bombardment | Turkish forces shell Kurdish-held areas in northern Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported rocket fire by Turkish forces and their proxy factions this morning on positions where Kurdish forces are deployed in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The bombardment targeted the surrounding areas of Um Housh and Qarrah villages, but no casualties have been reported.

On Wednesday, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces stationed in Thalthana base in Mare’ village fired heavy artillery shells on the vicinity of Tel Madiq and Al-Mashrafa villages in east Aleppo countryside where Kurdish and regime forces are deployed, causing material damage only.

Hours earlier, Observatory activists reported rocket fire carried out by Turkish forces on Wednesday afternoon on areas in the vicinity and outskirts of Tel Rifaat city which is under the control of Kurdish and regime forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which also hosts a Russian military base.

This rocket attack coincided with a Turkish drone attack on the vicinity of Tel Rifaat city. No casualties were reported.

It is worth noting that this was the fifth drone attack by Turkish forces on positions of regime forces since early July 2022.
