Old ordnance | Child killed in landmine explosion in Al-Bokamal countryside

SOHR sources have documented the death of a child in the explosion of an old landmine planted earlier next to a deserted house in Al-Sayyal town in Al-Bokamal countryside, near the Syria-Iraq border in Deir Ezzor countryside.

 

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 144 civilians, including ten women and 66 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 221 civilians, including 12 women and 117 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
