Abandoning newborns | Residents find newborn girl abandoned in Al-Hasakah

SOHR activists have reported that residents found a newborn girl placed inside a black bag, dumped near garbage dump in Al-Mofty neighbourhood in Al-Hasakah city.

SOHR activists have just reported that residents found two children believed to be brothers in Al-Akiba village in Jabla city in Lattakia countryside in regime-held areas.

According to reliable SOHR sources, a woman left the two children in the tunnel of the village and left the area, and the residents took the children to Jabla National Hospital to receive proper medication.

This came in light of the growing phenomenon of abandoning newborns by their parents, for many reasons, in light of the ongoing war in the country.

This is the 27th case of abandoning newborns since 2022, in different areas in regime-held areas, and the 8th case in SDF-held areas.
