Lebanese “Hezbollah” areas | Regime military checkpoint arrests three smugglers from local factions in Al-Suwaydaa

Rif Dimashq province: SOHR activists have reported that members of a regime’s new checkpoint (Artoz) in Rif Dimashq arrested a group of smugglers, and took them to the security centres.

According to reliable SOHR sources, regime forces managed to arrest three smugglers, who had weapons in their possession.

Local sources confirmed that the arrested smugglers worked for a local faction in Al-Suwaydaa, and own a store that sells weapons in Salkhad area.

Moreover, local sources confirmed that the weapons they had were hunting weapons and not military weapons, and are automatic and used by pressure gauges and ammunition.

It is worth noting that the borders area with Lebanon is considered a site for smugglers and drug dealers, in addition to being a site for manufacturing them under the coat of the Lebanese “Hezbollah” and the regime’s Fourth Division.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists documented the death of a regime soldier and injury of another in a grenade attack by a group of Lebanese smugglers, on a checkpoint of the regime’s Military Security in the area of Al-Qalmon Mountains at the Syrian-Lebanon borders opposite to Al-Mashirfa Lebanese village.

On the same context, members of the Military Security and “Al-Hajana” forces targeted the smuggler, injuring him, and targeted the house of the leader of the group inside Syrian territory with two shells, partially destroying it, amid reports of his death inside Lebanese territory.

It is worth noting that the borders between Lebanon and Syria overlap together, while some civilians’ houses are disputed over between Lebanon and Syria.

The area had been witnessing smuggling activity, and production of narcotic pills and pot.
