Escalating infightings | Young man killed over earlier retaliation in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that a young man was killed by his cousin in Al-Bahrah town in eastern Deir Ezzor over an earlier retaliation between the two families. This coincides with the escalating tribal-featured infightings in SDF-controlled areas.

Yesterday, SOHR activists in SDF-controlled village of Al-Jalamidah in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor have documented the death of a civilian in clashes which followed disagreements over smuggling food to regime-controlled areas. Meanwhile, the victim’s relatives stormed into the house of the murderer, sabotaged its contents and set fire to the house. This coincided with the escalating infightings in Deir Ezzor province.

On July 26, SOHR activists reported that tension grew in Al-Izbeh village in north Deir Ezzor countryside following the death of a man and the injury of another after a dispute among cousins which evolved into clashes.

Similarly, on July 11, SOHR activists monitored tribal clashes with machineguns in Al-Sabha town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, between Al-Moshahda tribe and Al-Kabida tribe due to quarrels that developed into clashes.
