To establish fortifications | Irani “Revolutionary Guards” bring drilling machineries to Homs desert

SOHR activists have monitored the entrance of heavy machineries to Al-Alyaniyah village 70 kilometers southern of Palmyra in the Syrian desert.

The machineries comprised tractors and excavators to establish fortifications for the Irani Revolutionary Guards militias, which control the village and its surroundings.

On August 4, four regime soldiers were killed, and several others were wounded in an attack by ISIS fighters on a military post of the regime forces at Al-Seryatel tower at Al-Mahr position near Jahar area in the Syrian desert.

According to reliable sources, a group of ISIS fighters infiltrated from Al-Shaer area and targeted regime position.

SOHR activists reported that unidentified gunmen attacked a military convoy of regime forces near Al-Tiyas village in Homs desert on Tuesday evening, August 2

The regime convoy, consisting of three “Kerz” vehicles and four-wheel drive motor vehicles, was travelling near two Iranian-backed militia checkpoints when the unidentified gunmen attacked it. The attack left regime soldiers injured.

The injured soldiers were taken to a dispensary in the fourth station, and then they were transferred to Homs military hospital.

On July 23, SOHR sources reported that ISIS cells carried out a large-scale attack on regime checkpoints and points near the third station and Al-Hail oil field in eastern Homs countryside on Saturday dawn, amid confirmed reports of killing and injuring regime soldiers. The casualties were taken to Palmyra national hospital.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, ISIS cells in Al-Hammad desert at Syria-Jordan- Iraq border triangle attacked regime’s positions.
