Dispute over people smuggling | Collaborator with regime security branches shot dead in Rif Dimashq

Rif Dimashq province: A collaborator with regime’s security branches was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Hafir Al-Fawqa town in Rif Dimashq.

According to SOHR activists, the young man is accused of working for regime’s security branches, and he was killed over a dispute with smugglers.

It is worth noting that this area is used as a route for illegal smuggling between Syria and Lebanon.

This comes in light of the increasing rate of attacks by unidentified gunmen throughout Syria.

On July 27, SOHR sources reported that unidentified persons abducted a person from Yalda town, south of Damascus, nearly ten days earlier. On July 27, the man was found dead in an orchard south of the capital, Damascus, with signs of severe beatings on all his body.

The man’s body was handed over to his family in Danon town near Al-Kiswah city, western Rif Dimashq.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the dead man was an informant for regime security branches, and he participated in the security campaigns carried out by regime forces.
