After death of four soldiers | Regime forces and Iranian militias plant landmines near oil field

SOHR activists have reported that regime forces and Iranian militias raised berms in the area separating between Al-Mahr field and Al-Zift road near Al-Johar field, which links the international highway between Homs and Palmyra passing by Jabal Al-Abbas.

Moreover, they planted landmines in the mentioned areas.

This came after the attack on a military checkpoint near Al-Mahr field on August 4, which caused the death of four regime soldiers.

On August 6, SOHR activists monitored the entrance of heavy machineries to Al-Alyaniyah village 70 kilometers southern of Palmyra in the Syrian desert.

The machineries comprised tractors and excavators to establish fortifications for the Irani Revolutionary Guards militias, which control the village and its surroundings.

On August 4, four regime soldiers were killed, and several others were wounded in an attack by ISIS fighters on a military post of the regime forces at Al-Seryatel tower at Al-Mahr position near Jahar area in the Syrian desert.

According to reliable sources, a group of ISIS fighters infiltrated from Al-Shaer area and targeted regime position.
