Despite death of ISIS commander and departure of suspects | Regime forces shells areas in Tafs city and western countryside

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that regime forces and their loyal gunmen have opened fire with heavy machineguns randomly in the vicinity of Tafs city in Daraa countryside, where sporadic clashes erupted between local gunmen on one hand and regime forces and their loyal gunmen on the other hand at the southern outskirts of the city.

Moreover, five civilians were injured due to random shelling, coinciding with attempts by the regime forces to advance towards Tafs city this morning.

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported ongoing clashes in the vicinity of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa between local gunmen on the one hand and regime forces and their proxy militias on the other.

According to SOHR activists, regime forces managed to control posts south of Tafas on Al-Yadouda road.

The clashes and regime attack triggered an exodus of residents from southern Tafas and left civilians injured.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of an Iraqi refugee called “Abo Salim Al-Iraqi”, who was accused of “being an ISIS commander”, where he blew himself up after being sieged by regime forces and local gunmen in a house in Adwan town in western Daraa countryside 15 kilometers away from the occupied Al-Jolan, where violent clashes erupted causing injuries among the assailants.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the commander had been hiding in western Daraa countryside near the occupied Al-Jolan since 2018, and participated in assassinations and erupted chaos in the Syrian south.

According to SOHR local sources, several regime suspects left Tafs city towards an unknown destination to avoid military escalation with the regime.
