Security vacuum in Daraa | Unknown individuals plant IED in former commander and member of Daraa Central Committee

Daraa province: Reliable sources have told SOHR that members subordinated by a former commander of opposition faction, who is now a member of Daraa Central Committee, dismantled and blew up an IED planted earlier by unknown individuals in the car of the former commander near his house in a neighbourhood in the northern part of Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa. The explosion left no casualties.

 

Since early 2022, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 333, which left 287 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 139 civilians, including four women and five children.

 

  • 123 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

 

  • 14 former fighters who did not joined any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

 

  • An ex-ISIS member.

 

  • Seven unidentified people.

 

  • Three militiamen of the Russian-backed 5th
