Amid military escalation in rural Al-Hasakah | Turkish-Russian joint patrol cancelled

Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that Turkish forces has cancelled a patrol which was supposed to be run with the Russians today in Al-Darbasiyah countryside. According to SOHR sources, Russian forces set off from Al-Qamishli airport and arrived at Sherek border crossing this morning, where they met with Turkish forces, before the Russians were informed that the patrol was cancelled. Russian forced later headed to Qunaitara village in Al-Darbasiyah countryside in Al-Hasakah province escorted by two helicopters which were seen hovering over that area. The Russian patrol has been positioned in the village until now.

 

On August 9, SOHR reported that a child was killed, and other people were injured in Al-Qahtaniyah town to the east of Al-Qamishli by Turkish bombardment on civilian houses. Also, a civilian was killed be Turkish bombardment on Al-Salmas village in Tel Tamr countryside. While two strikes by Turkish drones on the northern part of Al-Qamishli left two combatants dead.

 

Moreover, A civilian in Amuda district and two regime soldiers were wounded by shelling at a military post in Qurmaniyah village in Darbasiyah countryside.

 

It is worth noting that Turkish forces stationed in Turkish territory shelled 17 villages and towns and eight positions, these targeted areas are distributed as follows:

 

  • Six areas and villages, in some of which regime forces are deployed in Darbasiyah countryside: Karbashek, Birknis, Shirik, Malak, Qunenitra and Khanka.

 

  • Three villages in western Amouda countryside: Jarnak, Shurki and Tel Hamdoun.

 

  • Eight villages in Al-Qahtaniyah countryside: Shalhoumiyeh, Kardim, Kil Hasnak, Tel Jahan, Rutan, Zour Ava, Tel Bashek and Mulla Abbas.
