Unfounded news | Commander arrested in Marea not affiliated with “PKK” unlike Turkish allegation
SOHR sources have confirmed that circulated news by Turkish security sources and Syrian outlets about the commander arrested yesterday in Marea in the northern countryside of Aleppo being affiliated with Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are completely untrue.
The sources also confirmed that the arrested man is Hassan Najjar, a former commander of “Al-Waqas Brigade” operating under the banner of “National Army” factions, one of the first members of the Free Army. Hassan Najjr then became the commander of Al-Waqas Brigade nearly a year before he quit the faction, after which he did not join to any faction.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Turkish Intelligence, supported by dozens of vehicles, arrested a former commander of Liwaa Al-Waqas, which belongs to the “National Army”, in Marae’ city in northern Aleppo countryside, and took him to Security Centres in Afrin city, without knowing the charges pressed against him.
