Old ordnance | Landmine explosion kills little girl and injures others in Daraa countryside

A 14-year-old girl was killed and four other people were injured by the explosion of an old landmine while working in a workshop in a farmland between Al-Dilli village and Barqa town in Daraa countryside. It is worth noting that some of the victims are from Ankhil in Daraa, while the others have been displaced from Deir Ezzor.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 150 civilians, including ten women and 70 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 233 civilians, including 15 women and 126 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
