Second round in 15 days | Coalition and “Jaysh Maghawir Al-Thawra” conduct military drills in the 55-kilometre zone

SOHR sources have reported hearing loud explosions in the 55-kilometre zone near the Syria-Iraq-Jordan border triangle due to joint military drills conducted by the International Coalition and “Jaysh Maghawir Al-Thawra” which is affiliated to the “Free Army.”

According to SOHR sources, the drills, which simulated a real battle, started this morning, where the participating forces shot different targets.

It is worth noting that this round of military drills is the second of its kind in 15 days.

On July 28, SOHR sources reported joint military drills between the International Coalition and “Jaysh Maghawir Al-Thawra” in the 55-kilometre zone where Coalition Forces are deployed, near the Syria-Iraq-Jordan border triangle. Forces participating in the drills used live ammunitions and different types of weapons with the aim of checking the combat readiness of these forces.

While on July 16, SOHR sources reported that the commander-in-chief of US operations in the Middle East, Michael Corella, visited Al-Tanaf base in the 55-kilometre zone at Syria-Iraq-Jordan border triangle.

During this visit, Michael Corella met with commanders and members of Coalition-backed “Jaysh Maghaweer Al-Thawrah” faction.

The visit came days after Lebanese Hezbollah media outlets circulated images showing the Coalition base Al-Tanaf in the 55-kilometre zone, which is under the control of the International Coalition and Maghaweer Al-Thawrah faction.

It is worth noting that the 55-kilometre zone also hosts Al-Rukban camp.
