Old ordnance | Landmine explosion kills driver of drilling vehicle in Homs

Homs province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a driver of a drilling vehicle, due to the explosion of a landmine planted between the scrap, where the explosion caused fire to break near the iron smelting factory in the industrial city in Hasiya’ in eastern Homs countryside.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 151 civilians, including ten women and 70 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 233 civilians, including 15 women and 126 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
