Security chaos in regime areas | Unidentified gunmen shoot young man dead in Homs

Homs province: SOHR activists have reported that residents of northern Homs countryside in regime-held areas, provided medical care to a young man, who was shot by several gunshots in different areas of his body, due to tradefire with unidentified gunmen, who tried to kidnap him to collect ransoms, while he was returning from his work on the road of Deirfol village in Al-Roston countryside.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the young man suffered another critical injury, and was transported to a specialized hospital in Talbisiyah city. However, he died before arriving to the hospital.

The Syrian Observatory has documented 89 murders in regime-controlled areas since early 2022, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while the motivations behind the others remained unknown. These murders left 94 civilians: 16 children, 15 women and 63 men, dead. The fatalities are distributed regionally as follows:

• Al-Suwaidaa: 24 civilians: three children, including an infant, three women and 18 men.

• Rif Dimashq: 17 civilians: five children, three women and nine men, including an elderly man.

• Hama: Ten civilians: an infant, three women and six men.

• Daraa: Nine civilians: four children and five men.

• Homs: Ten civilians: a little girl, three women and six men.

• Damascus: Four civilians: a woman and three men.

• Tartus: Four civilians: two women and two men.

• Deir Ezzor: Four men.

• Al-Raqqah: Two men.

• Aleppo: Seven civilians: an infant and four men.
