SDC initiative | 77 Syrian families to leave Al-Hawl camp after seven months-halt of initiative to evacuate Syrians and empty the camp

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that preparations are underway in Al-Hawl camp to evacuate a new batch of ISIS Syrian families from Al-Hawl camp in south-east of Al-Hasakah, on Sunday as a part of the initiative launched by the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) to empty the camp and evacuate the Syrians.

According to SOHR sources, nearly 77 families from Deir Ezzor comprising 200 people will leave Al-Hawl camp today.

It is worth noting that this is the first batch of Syrians to leave Al-Hawl camp since last January 2022, and the second in 2022, after the evacuation of Syrians has been halted more than seven months ago.

In January 2022, 22 families of nearly 217 people left the camp as a part of the initiative by “Syrian Democratic Council” (SDC) to evacuate Syrians from Al-Hawl camp, where these families were transported to Deir Ezzor province.

In 2021, over 780 Syrian families of more than 2,890 people left Al-Hawl camp in batches under the SDC initiative.
