HTS-held areas | HTS arrests three people in Idlib countryside

Idlib province: Members of the Security Service of Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham arrested three people at Maarat Masrin checkpoint in Idlib countryside.

According to SOHR activists, HTS arrested a National Army member and two civilians for unknown charges and reasons.

On July 10, SOHR sources reported that HTS security service arrested nine members of an anonymous jihadist group known as “Ansar Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Battalion” which had claimed responsibility for earlier attacks on Turkish military convoys and posts in Idlib.

According to SOHR activists, these members were arrested in several areas across Idlib province: Idlib city, Al-Dana, Atma, Salqin, Harem in northern Idlib, near the Syria border with Iskenderun region, and areas in Jisr Al-Shughour countryside in western Idlib.

It is worth noting that the so-called “Ansar Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Battalion” had attacked Turkish military convoys and posts and HTS checkpoints, as well as stormed headquarters of opposition factions and looted their material and weapons on charges of “apostasy and infidelity.”
