Turkish bombardment | Civilian dies of wounds sustained in Turkish shelling on Al-Qamishli countryside

 

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists documented the death of a civilian of wounds he sustained nearly a week ago by Turkish bombardment on Tel Ziwan village in Al-Qamishli countryside in Al-Hasakah province.

On August 9, Turkish forces stationed at the border posts shelled 22 villages, towns and residential areas, including Tel Ziwan village in Al-Hasakah countryside, leaving 11 civilians injured and a girl dead. Turkish shelling also left two regime soldiers injured in Al-Qurmaniyah in Al-Darbasiyah countryside.

 

Turkish forces escalated their bombardment that lasted from Monday midnight until the early hours of Tuesday morning, triggering an exodus of dozens of families from villages bordering Turkey and Al-Darbasiyah town in the northwestern countryside of Al-Hasakah to safer areas.

On Monday evening, Turkish forces fired artillery and mortar shells on the villages of Al-Jattal, Al-Qurmaniyah, Karbashek and Shirik, west of Al-Darbasiyah, resulting in a house fire and significant damage to civilians properties.
