Military escalation | Violent clashes erupt between Turkish forces and SDF amid mass exodus in western Ain Al-Arab countryside

 

 

SOHR activists have reported that western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) at Syria-Turkey border east of Aleppo is witnessing violent clashes between Turkish forces stationed on the border and SDF forces.

The clashes are concentrated on the frontlines of Zor Maghar, Jarkhali, Boban, Seftek, Sheioukh and Tel Sha’yer.

These clashes coincided with the exchange of heavy shelling and heavy machine guns between SDF and Turkish forces.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, the area is witnessing a significant displacement of people following Turkish military escalation.

 

Moreover, a SDF military force vehicle was targeted by Turkish forces in Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), amid reports that an SDF military vehicle had been targeted by a Turkish drone.

On Tuesday morning, Turkish forces carried out a rocket attack on areas in and west of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in eastern Aleppo countryside, amid flights by drones over areas in the villages of Al-Jat and Al-Masi north of Manbij, in north-western countryside of Aleppo, SOHR activists reported.

Turkish shelling also hit areas in the villages of Al-Maaliq and Sayida in Ain Issa countryside, north of Al-Raqqah. No casualties have yet been reported.

It is worth noting that all the targeted areas are under the control of Autonomous Administration.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, SDF forces had targeted a military post of Turkish forces in western Ain Al-Arab after Tuesday midnight.
