Military escalation | Turkish forces and their proxies shell villages in Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces and their proxies have fired dozens of artillery shells on positions in Tatamirsh, Showargha and Qal’a Showargha villages with Kurdish-held areas in northern Aleppo countryside. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

Turkish forces at bases deployed on the outskirts of Jarablus and inside Turkish territory shelled the villages of Zurmghar, Al-Sheyokh, Fawqani and Mazra’a, west of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

Turkish shelling comes after the killing of two Turkish soldiers in a rocket attack waged by SDF targeting Turkish bases.

SOHR activists also monitored rocket fire by Turkish forces stationed at Al-Thulthanah base on the outskirts of Marea in the northern countryside of Aleppo, targeting the outskirts of the villages of Al-Washiya and Umm Al-Qura in the northern countryside of Aleppo. Only material damages have been reported.
