New massacre | Turkish drones kill four children in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented the death of four girls under the age of eighteen and the injury of 11 others in airstrikes by Turkish drone on a UN-sponsored centre nearly 45 kilometres away from the Syria-Turkey border. It is worth noting that the casualties are of girls who had been recruited by “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” (the Revolutionary Youth) and taken later by SDF to the targeted centre as a part of efforts to rehabilitate them and return them back to their families. The targeted centre is called the “Girls’ Centre” and it is located nearly two kilometres away from the International Coalition base on the road between Al-Hasakah and Tel Tamr.

The attack coincided with the visit of a female commander of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) to the centre.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that a Turkish drone attacked the sponge plant where SDF are stationed in a post nearby, nearly 45 kilometres away from the Syria-Turkey border. It is worth noting that the targeted site is located in the area hosting Istrahat Wazir base where International Coalition Forces are stationed on the road between Al-Hasakah and Tel Tamr. The attack left two people dead and three others injured.

Accordingly, the number of attacks carried out by Turkish drones on areas controlled by the “Autonomous Administration in northern and north-eastern Syria, AANES” since early 2022 has reached 54. These attacks left nine civilians, including six children, and 50 combatants, including two children and 13 females, dead, while over 90 others sustained various injuries.
