ISIS resurgence | Employee of “Autonomous Administration” institutions assassinated in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have documented the death of an employee working at the court of the “Autonomous Administration”, where he was attacked by unidentified gunmen believed to be ISIS members, in Hamar Al-Ola village in western Deir Ezzor countryside.

This comes in light of the increasing activity of ISIS cells, coinciding with security operation of the Internal Security Forces and the Anti-Terrorism forces against ISIS in Al-Hawl camp in Al-Hasakah countryside northern and eastern of Syria.

SOHR has documented 126 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2022.

According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 96 persons dead: 37 civilians and 59 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces, and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

It is worth noting that these attacks have not included the operation of Ghuwayran prison, which left heavy losses.
