New assassination | Collaborator with Hezbollah killed and his escort injured in smuggling area with Lebanon in Rif Dimashq
Rif Dimashq province: Unidentified gunmen have targeted two collaborators with Lebanese Hezbollah militia and regime forces in Rankos town in north-western Rif Dimashq, leaving one dead and the other injured.
It is worth noting that Rankos area is witnessing smuggling operations between Lebanon and Syria, under the supervision of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
The injured man is accused of snitching a number of people in the town while they were hiding in a house, then regime forces managed to attack them and kill eight of them nearly two years ago.
On August 29, SOHR activists reported that a commander close to Lebanese Hezbollah was assassinated in an area that came under Israeli bombardment in Rif Dimashq.
According to SOHR sources, unidentified gunmen shot dead the commander of Al-Ba’ath Brigades in Al-Tuwani village in Al-Qutayfa countryside in Rif Dimashq, just after midnight.
The commander was targeted by several bullets that killed him instantly.
It is worth noting that Lebanese Hezbollah militias are deployed in Al-Qutayfa area, and Hezbollah warehouses had previously come under Israeli bombardment.
On August 14, Israeli missiles hit a military position of regime forces in Al-Qutayfa area in Rif Dimashq.
On January 31, positions of the Lebanese Hezbollah nearby Al-Qutayfa city in eastern Qalamoun area to the north-east of the capital, Damascus, came under an Israeli attack. According to SOHR sources, at least five explosions were heard in Al-Qutayfa city followed by the outbreak of fire in military posts and weapons and ammunitions warehouses of Lebanese Hezbollah in the vicinity of the city.
