SOHR: More Israeli strikes on Iran arms depots in Syria

Another airstrike has been attributed to Israel after one on Aleppo late Wednesday evening.

The latest occurred on Thursday before dawn near Damascus in southern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

SOHR reported that both the attacks – against the Aleppo airport and on the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital – targeted medium and long-range missiles made in Iran.

Sources claim the missiles are guarded by Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran-linked Iraqi Shia jihadists that have been deployed in Syria for years amid the ongoing conflict.

It is not yet known whether anyone was killed or what was damaged in the airstrike on Thursday morning in Kiswa, south of Damascus.

The evening airstrike on Aleppo targeted landing strips and warehouses inside the perimeter of the airport.

This was the 23rd attack attributed to Israel in Syria in 2022.

In recent days, another airstrike had targeted a tunnel underground where Hezbollah was keeping missiles in central Syria.

In recent months, the Damascus airport was severely damaged by another Israeli bombing, forcing it to close for some weeks.
