Abandoning newborns | Residents find newborn girl abandoned in Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that residents have found a newborn girl, who was abandoned by her parents, near the neighbourhood of “Al-Lamba” Square opposite to “Hamza Bakery” in Manbij city within SDF-held areas in eastern Aleppo countryside.

This comes in light of the growing phenomenon of child abandonment across Syria for different reasons, mainly the poor living conditions and in light of the ongoing war in Syria.

This is the 30th case of abandoning newborns since 2022, in different areas in regime-held areas, and the 10th case in SDF-held areas.
