Ongoing abuses and arbitrary arrests | Al-Sham Corps arrests civilian from Shirawa district, while Military Police release civilians for ransoms
Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of Al-Sham Corps faction arrested a civilian from Kabashin village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo for unknown charge in late August.
Meanwhile, members of a Military Police patrol arrested two civilians from Sheikh Al-Hadid district in Afrin countryside for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration,” later released the two arrested men after their families paid a ransom of 1,000 USD each.
On August 31, SOHR activists reported that members of a military police checkpoint arrested a civilian from Jendires district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo for unknown charges and took him to Military Police security posts in Jendires district.
Moreover, Al-Sham Corps faction, which controls Kara baba village in Raju district in Afrin countryside, arrested a resident of the same village with special needs for ” criticising the National Army factions,” and demanded that his family pay a ransom for his release.
