Backed by SDF ground forces | Coalition Forces carry out air drop in eastern Deir Ezzor, arresting two members of ISIS cells

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that International Coalition Forces, with the participation of ground forces of Syria Democratic Forces, have conducted an air drop targeting a house in Al-Hawi area in Al-Shuhayl town in east Deir Ezzor countryside.

During the security operation, Coalition Forces have arrested the house’s lessee and another man from Al-Mohassan city in Deir Ezzor countryside for “belonging to ISIS cells,” where the two men were taken to a security centre.

This coincides with escalating attacks by ISIS cells in SDF-controlled areas in north-east Syria, especially after appeals by ISIS to its supporters to help the organisation to revive, along the security campaign launched by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in Al-Hawl camp in the far south-eastern region of Al-Hasakah countryside.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that SDF, backed by International Coalition air support, launched a security operation in Al-Takihy village in Deir Ezzor countryside to arrest a commander of ISIS security service “Al-Hisba,” while he was in the house of his relative in the village.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the commander, who was known as “Saif,” was hiding in Al-Takihy village and tried to escape after hearing helicopters flying over the region, where an International Coalition drone opened fire on him, killing him immediately.
