Algeria, Syria discuss marketing liquefied petroleum gas

Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab yesterday received Syrian Ambassador to Algeria Namir Al-Ghanim and discussed possible partnerships and investments in the field of energy, especially in the hydrocarbons sectors and the marketing of liquefied petroleum gas, the Algerian ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, the two officials also discussed power generation, transportation and conversion, maintenance, training and equipment manufacturing, as well as renewable energy sources.

They also discussed existing cooperation opportunities in the mining sector, especially in the field of phosphate exploitation and transformation, noting Algeria’s readiness to develop and deepen bilateral cooperation with Syria.

The meeting resulted in an agreement to form a technical working group from the two ministries responsible for energy and mines, which would develop a road map to ensure progress is made in the areas discussed.
