Inspecting houses damaged by Turkish shelling | US soldiers roam on foot in Tel Ziwan village in Al-Qamishly

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that US forces conducted a routine patrol in the eastern countryside of Al-Qamishly city.

The patrol comprised several armoured vehicles, while the soldiers roamed on foot in the streets of Tel Ziwan village and met the residents of the village to inspect the civilians’ houses that were damaged by the Turkish artillery shelling during the past month.

On August 9, SOHR activists reported military escalation by Turkish forces in Al-Qamishly countryside and border area with Turkey.

Turkish forces shelled 24 villages and towns in the area. The shelling hit houses in the villages of Sikirka and Tel Ziwan in Al-Qamishli, leaving a number of civilians, including children, injured in Sikirka village.

On July 18, SOHR activists reported that large numbers of US soldiers toured the centre of Tel Tamr town, north-west of Al-Hasakah, protected by SDF patrols.

This coincided with blocking streets and preventing cars from crossing to secure protection for the patrol that tour through the city centre and meets residents on roads, markets and inside shops.

It is worth noting that US forces conducted routine patrols almost daily in the border areas with Turkey in Al-Hasakah countryside.
