Idlib | Child dies under collapsing house that was shelled

Idlib province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a 4 years-old child, who was displaced from Al-Karkat village in western Hama countryside, where the wall of a house, which was shelled by the regime forces before, collapsed over him while he was playing near it in Adwan village in western Idlib countryside.

It is worth noting that a large amount of houses and buildings are subjected to collapse in different areas of Syria, as a result of the ongoing war.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 172 civilians, including ten women and 87 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 251 civilians, including 15 women and 141 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
