Ongoing security chaos | Unidentified people assassinate two civilians in “Peace Spring” area in Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that unidentified gunmen riding motorbikes have shot two civilians, who are displaced from Al-Sejr village in northern Deir Ezzor countryside in Al-Khirbat neighbourhood in Ras Al-Ain “Sere Kanye” city in “Peace Spring” areas, killing them immediately.

This comes in light of the ongoing security chaos in areas held by the Turkish forces and their proxies in “Peace Spring” area.

On August 29, a former commander of Turkish-backed “Al-Hamza Division” was targeted by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle with machine guns in Ras Al-Ain city centre in “Peace Spring” area in Al-Hasakah countryside. The attackers fled to an unknown area.

The former commander was critically injured and transferred to a hospital in Turkey for treatment.

According to SOHR activists, the dead man was sacked by National Army commanders, and the people accuse him of committing violations against civilians in Ras Al-Ain and its countryside, including kidnapping, arrest, torture and murder, as well as stealing and forcibly robbing the people’s properties.
