Old ordnance | Seven members of one family killed and injured in Bensh city

Idlib province: An explosion rocked Benish city, east of Idlib due to the explosion of old landmines and unexploded ordnance in the house of a displaced family, killing three children and injuring four people, of one family.

According to SOHR sources, there were old landmines and unexploded ordnance planted in the house, before the house was inhabited by the family.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 175 civilians, including ten women and 90 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 255 civilians, including 16 women and 143 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
