Abandoning newborns | Residents find newborn baby abandoned in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that residents have found an abandoned new born baby at the side of Al-Hawy St. at the outskirts of Sabikhan city in areas held by the regime forces and their militias eastern of Deir Ezzor.

This comes in light of the growing phenomenon of child abandonment across Syria for different reasons, mainly the poor living conditions and in light of the ongoing war in Syria.

This is the 28th case of abandoning newborns since 2022, in different areas in regime-held areas, and the 8th case in SDF-held areas.
