Anticipating drone attack | Mobilization within Al-Tanf base with flight of “International Coalition” planes in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have monitored the flight of two helicopters and scout drones of the “International Coalition” over Al-Mayadin, which is controlled by Iran-backed militias, in Deir Ezzor.

Moreover, planes were flying over Al-Sabha desert in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside and threw flare grenades.

On the same context, “International Coalition” forces in Al-Tanf base instructed Jaish Maghawer Al-Thawra to mobilize and deploy, in anticipation of any operation with drones of Iranian militias.

On August 31, a commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah visited Al-Mayadeen city in Deir Ezzor countryside.

The commander who is known as “Hajj Sajjad” met with Iran-backed militia commanders and ordered them to form cells in the eastern Euphrates region working for Iranian-backed militias, in order to launch attacks on U.S. bases and use kamikaze drone from distances close to the US bases to ensure they are not spotted by ground defences.

Reliable sources informed SOHR that International Coalition forces asked the intelligence services working with them in Syria for intelligence on the sites of the deployment of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its militias.

This came after installing missile launchers by Iranian-backed militias, on the bank of the Euphrates river and in and in Al-Mayadeen area, reaching Al-Bokamal at Syria-Iraq border, and following the clashes between “international coalition” forces and Iranian -backed militias and bombardment of “international coalition” and “SDF” bases in Deir Ezzor countryside by Iranian-backed militias.

SOHR activists reported that “International Coalition” forces and SDF conducted military exercises near the base of Koniko Gas Field in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, using live ammunition and warplanes targeting fake targets with airstrikes.

This came hours after the Afghani “Fatimyon” militias deployed missile launchers on the opposite side of the field.

SOHR activists reported that the Afghani “Fatimyon” militias, which are affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, deployed missiles in Huwayjat Sakr area in Deir Ezzor city and aimed them towards “Koniko” Gas Field, which was targeted on August 25.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the deployed missiles were estimated at 8 metres in length.

On August 22, International Coalition and SDF forces conducted live-fire exercises in Al-Hajif area and Al-Jarafat area, north-west of Deir Ezzor.

During the military exercises, SDF and Coalition forces used mortar and artillery shells and fake targets.
