Deir Ezzor | Regime security services arrest three National Defence commanders in less than week

Deir Ezzor province: A commander of the National Defence militia was arrested by regime forces in Al-Jura neighbourhood of Deir Ezzor, SOHR activsists reported.

A patrol of regime forces raided the house of the deputy commander of National Defence militia on the main street in Al-Jura neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city, and clashes with the commander.

It is worth noting that the commander had a bad reputation. The reason for the commander arrest remains unknown, while some suggest that it is for settling scores.

The regime forces also arrested another commander of National Defence militia a few days ago in Deir Ezzor for unknown reasons.

The arrested commander was a former member of the factions, then he joined the ranks of national defence militia in Deir Ezzor after ISIS took control of the area.

Accordingly, regime security services had arrested three National Defence commanders in Deir Ezzor in less than a week.

On September 5, SOHR activists reported that National Defence members were put on high alert in Deir Ezzor, over the arrest of the warden of the National Defence prison by a criminal security patrol on cinema foad street.

According to the sources, the warden was arrested under the direct order of the head of Deir Ezzor, for violations and abuses, such as involving in drug trafficking and brothels, and for being accused of killing at least three prisoners in the National Defence prison.

The warden of the National Defence prison had a close relationship with Firas Al-Iraqiyah, the national defence commander in Deir Ezzor since the establishment of the National Defence forces.
