After threats by civilians | Regime forces cover the murder of a regime soldier in an attack on military checkpoint
Homs province: SOHR activists have reported that two gunmen from northern Homs countryside attacked a military checkpoint of the Air Defence Brigade in Al-Ghanto village.
The gunmen opened fire on members inside the checkpoint, killing an officer with the rank of first sergeant, who is from Misyaf, and injuring another regime member in the shoulder.
According to reliable SOHR sources, the Red Crescent Division in Talbisa city northern of Homs refused to head towards the injured and the fallen regime soldiers, where the head of the officer was forced to transport them towards the Specialized Hospital in Talbisa city.
According to medical sources, members of the military security station, which is located in Talbisa city, arrived to check the results of the attack, before communicating with the Military Homs Hospital to transport the casualties.
SOHR activists received reports confirming the participation of members of the Air Defence Brigade checkpoint, which is located at the outskirts of Al-Ghanto town, where they sold ammunition and Kalashnikov bullets to civilians via mediation.
Moreover, clashes erupted between one of the residents of the area and a member of the military checkpoint, after the latter violated the sanctity of the resident’s house.
It is worth noting that the regime security stations haven’t taken any security measures against the attackers, after the threats they received from residents of the area, who considered the attack as defence of honour.
On September 10, SOHR activists documented the death of a regime soldier in northern Homs countryside.
