Over 350 soldiers | Regime forces bring military reinforcements to checkpoints opposite to “Peace Spring” areas

Al-Raqqa province: SOHR activists have monitored the arrival of seven buses carrying regime soldiers to northern Al-Raqqa countryside.

The reinforcements comprise over 350 soldiers, who stationed in western Tel Abyad countryside opposite to the positions of Turkish forces and their proxies in “Peace Spring” areas, and in the artillery battalion in Tel Abyad countryside.

On August 8, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces withdrew from their military bases in Tanuz and Harqli villages in western Tel Abyad countryside in Al-Raqqah province at Syria-Turkey border to advance deep into the frontlines there in joint coordination with the Russians.

Syrian Observatory sources also reported that Russian-Turkish coordination would lead to new incurcioun by Russians and regime forces in Tel Abyad area, in an undeclared agreement between the Russian and Turkish forces.

SOHR sources added that regime forces fired shells on the two bases from which Turkish forces withdrew, which were empty.

It is worth noting that Turkish forces established military bases in those two villages following their control over the area in October 2019.
