“We call for immediate retribution” | Mass protests held in “Peace Spring” area to demand accountability of rapist and murderer of Iraqi child “Yassin Al Mahmoud”

SOHR activists have reported seeing a mass demonstration in Ras Al-Ain “Sere Kanye” in northern Al-Hasakah countryside, demanding the arrest and accountability of the rapist and murderer of Iraqi child “Yassin Al-Mahmoud,” who was found murdered and sexually and physically assaulted by Mustafa Salama, a member of Turkish-backed Souqour Al-Shamal faction which is operating under the banner of National Army backed by Turkey.

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that dozens of demonstrators gathered at the police gate of Ras Al-Ain “Sere Kanye” and lifted placards with slogans demanding that the perpetrator be brought to justice and fair retribution.

SOHR activists have monitored a protest by dozens of civilians in Al-Suluk city in northern Al-Raqqah countryside, demanding that “Mustafa Salama” rapist and murderer of the Iraqi child “Yassin Al-Mahmoud” be brought to justice and executed for his heinous crime.

The protesters lifted placards read as follows: “We want a safe life for our children” and “From the heart of the capital of Peace Spring, the cradle of the revolution, we demand immediate retribution.”

A few hours ago, SOHR activists reported that anger and popular discontent grow in areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions and across Syria over the heinous crime committed by a member of Souqur Al-Shamal faction operating under the banner of Turkish-backed National Army faction against an Iraqi child in Ras Al-Ain Sere Kanye.

Mustafa Salama, a member of Souqur Al-Shamal” faction of National Army, abducted and sexually and physically assaulted an Iraqi child, Yassin Al-Mahmoud, killing him in cold blood and dumping him in front of his house.

Photographs, a copy of which, were obtained by SOHR show the signs of torture and beating on the body of the child Yassin.

This crime is similar to that of “Jawa Istebouli.” Despite Yassin’s innocence and childhood, Mustafa Salama, a “human wolf” from Soran city in northern Hama countryside, abducted, raped and killed him and then threw him in front of his house on Wednesday evening.

Social media pioneers expressed outrage and great resentment over the rape and murder of the child, demanding that the perpetrator be arrested and brought to a fair trial swiftly without any attempt to circumvent the case by faction leaders, similar to many previous crimes committed by members and leaders of Turkish-backed factions and then ended without accountability because of the influence of the leaders of these factions and their attempts and efforts to acquittal their members.

This comes amid popular demands for mass demonstrations in northern Syria to denounce this heinous crime.

We, SOHR, as a human rights institution, condemn this crime and the escalation of rape cases across, and demand that child rapists and human wolves be held accountable and brought to a fair trial.
