SOHR: 7 militants affiliated with Iran and Hezbollah were killed in Israeli attacks

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that 7 militants affiliated with Iran and Hezbollah were killed in the Israeli attacks on Damascus airport and other targets south of the capital.

Israeli warplanes attacked Damascus International Airport and other targets south of the Syrian capital, causing casualties and damage to property.

The official Syrian news agency, “SANA”, reported that five soldiers were killed and some material damage was caused in these attacks, noting that the Syrian air defenses downed most of the missiles that were launched.

Israel does not comment on such attacks, but has repeatedly confirmed that it has carried out hundreds of operations against the positions of Iranian-backed forces in Syria.

A senior Israeli official told reporters on Thursday that in the wake of recent Israeli attacks on Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militia positions in Syria, these forces have begun to withdraw from these areas.

During the early hours of early September, Israeli planes targeted, in two separate operations, the international airports of Aleppo and Damascus. These attacks caused severe damage to Aleppo Airport and temporarily suspended its activity.

On Thursday, August 25, the Israeli air force targeted the outskirts of the city of Masyaf, northwest of Syria. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a warehouse was targeted in this attack and more than a thousand Iranian-made missiles were destroyed.
