A week after his arrest | Young man dies under brutal torture in regime prisons

SOHR activists have documented the death of a civilian from Qorkos town in Al-Qonaitara countryside under brutal torture in regime prisons after a week of being arrested from his farm at Al-Harby road in Al-Aliyah town. The victim’s body was handed over to his parents showing signs of torture.

Accordingly, the number of civilians who died under torture in regime prisons which has been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since the beginning of 2022 has risen to 79 including two dissident army officers and 38 people from Eastern Ghouta whose death certificates were delivered by regime to their families in February.
