Following threats by NDF commander | Regime forces put on high alert in Deir Ezzor city

SOHR sources have reported that groups of the National Defence Forces (NDF) were deployed in Tab Al-Jawrah neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city, along with the arrival of patrols of the state-security intelligence service in the neighbourhood. Meanwhile, heavy gunfire was heard in the neighbourhood.

On the other hand, regime forces have been put on high alert in an area nearby the military hospital, amid deploying checkpoints and checking passers-by’s IDs following yesterday’s anarchy inside the military hospital, after an attempt by a group of NDF to help a person known as “Nosh” to escape. Meanwhile, clashes erupted at the hospital, during which a member of the police was injured, while “Nosh” was arrested.

In the same context, regime forces encircled the hospital, fearing expected attacks by NDF, especially after threats by the head of the National Defence Forces, “Feras Al-Iraqiyah,” and amassing troops at NDF major headquarters near the water institution. Meanwhile, tension is still rising.

On September 16, SOHR activists documented the injury of a National Defence member by gunshots fired by members of a patrol of the “State Security” Intelligence in Deir Ezzor city, and was then arrested after suffering severe wounds, amid security tension in the city.

On the same context, National Defence members stabbed an officer of “State Security” Intelligence in the chest, where Security Forces and Military Police launched a raiding and arresting campaign in Al-Teb and Al-Dahiyah neighbourhoods in Deir Ezzor arresting some young men who had connection with the injured member of the National Defence.

It is worth noting that the regime’s Military Security Branch arrested the mother of the injured member in August. However, her fate remains unknown.

While on September 13, SOHR activists documented the injury of a member of the State Security, due to clashes between members of the regime-backed National Defence on one hand, and members of the State Security on the other hand in Al-Joura neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city.
