Deir Ezzor | Iranian-backed militias remove landmines in areas near sites targeted by Coalition

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported seeing International Coalition fighter jets flying over Al-Mayadeen city and countryside which are dominated by Iranian-backed militias. Meanwhile, Iranian-backed militias put on high alert, evacuated their headquarters and redeployed in residential areas.

On the other hand, SOHR sources have reported that Iranian-backed militias are removing landmines in the surrounding areas of Ayyash warehouses and rehabilitating the buildings, which had been destroyed in the earlier attacks by the International Coalition.

SOHR activists, in Al-Mayadeen “Iranian colony” in west Euphrates region, had reported that Iranian-backed militias, especially non-Syrian ones, ordered their members to dramatically limit their movements in Al-Mayadeen city for fear of possible attack.

According to SOHR sources, militiamen left their headquarters and bases only when necessary and took their caution, for fear of assassinations.

While on September 9, SOHR activists reported that the Lebanese “Hezbollah” militias arrested 17 of its Syrian members, for “dealing with the International Coalition”. Meanwhile, the arrested members are being investigated.
