Unfounded news | “No Iranian missile struck coalition base in Al-Omar oil field,” SOHR confirm

SOHR sources, in areas held by Iranian-backed militias in Al-Mayadeen area and its surrounding west of Euphrates, have denied that Iranian-backed militias fired any missile or rocket on International Coalition base in Al-Omar oil field east of Euphrates yesterday.

This morning, SDF sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that US forces assured them yesterday evening that the explosions heard in the vicinity of Al-Omar oil field were caused by military exercises. Following the explosions, US helicopters flew over the area.

The US Department of Defense announced that the rocket attack failed to hit its military base in Al-Omar field.

SOHR asserts that if a rocket attack was waged on the US military base yesterday, it would have been fired from areas held by “Autonomous Administration,” which is close to the field, SOHR suggests that ISIS cells may have waged this rocket attack in retaliation for the security operation against ISIS cells in Al-Hawl camp, or the attack may have been carried out by Iranian-backed militias that are active in SDF-held areas.
