ISIS attack | SDF member killed west of Deir Ezzor in retaliation for anti-ISIS campaign in Al-Hawl camp

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have documented the death of an SDF member and the injury of another person in an attack by ISIS gunmen on a motorcycle in Jazrah-Al-Melaj town, west of Deir Ezzor.

This attack comes as part of ISIS’s retaliation for the security crackdown in Al-Hawl camp, where ISIS has stepped up attacks against SDF.

SOHR has documented 136 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2022. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 109 persons dead: 37 civilians, including a woman and a child, and 72 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

It is worth noting that these attacks have not included the operation of Ghuwayran prison, which left heavy losses.
