ISIS resurgence | “International Coalition” helicopters fly over Deir Ezzor countryside adjacent to areas of Iranian-backed militias

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have monitored the flight of “International Coalition” helicopters over the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, which is adjacent to areas of the Iranian-backed militias, where several helicopters were seen over Al-Basira city.

According to reliable SOHR sources, SDF and “International Coalition” are conducting a security operation in SDF-held area, supported by the helicopters.

This comes as a result of the escalation of ISIS activity, as a response to the “Humanitarian and Security” campaign in “Al-Hawl Mini-State”, which was launched on August 25.

ISIS waged the first retaliatory operation on August 27 and has since managed to carry out 16 attacks till now, all documented by Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists.

According to SOHR statistics, ISIS killed 17 people from August 27 to September 19, and they are as follows:

• Three civilians, including a child.

• 14 members of SDF and other military formations operating in areas controlled by Autonomous Administration.

These attacks also left 11 SDF fighter injured.

ISIS retaliatory operations are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 14 attacks.

• Al-Hasakah: An attack.

• Al-Raqqah: one attack.
