Al-Hasakah | Seekers for safe haven suffer violations of Jandarma and arrests by “National Army” factions

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that members of the Turkish border guards “Jandarma” arrested 14 people including women and children from Al-Hasakah, Al-Raqqa and Damascus, while they were trying to cross to Turksih territory via smuggling through Al-Adwaniyah village in Ras Al-Ain countryside within “Peace Spring” area.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the “Jandarma” arrested a whole group comprising 14 people, where they were brutally beaten and tortured by the Jandarma members, and then were dumbed outside the Turkish borders and into Syrian territory.

On the same context, members of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” faction arrested 17 people from Al-Dirbasiyah, Amouda, the vicinity of Al-Hasakah, Tel Tamr and Qahtaniyah in Al-Hasakah countryside, while they were crossing “Peace Spring” area via smuggling to migrate to Europe. Meanwhile, the faction contacted families of three of the arrested people demanding 8,000 USDs for their release, while the fate of the remainder remains unknown.

SOHR activists have documented the injury of a child under the age of 18 after being shot by “Turkish Jandarma.”

The child is from Al-Janudiyah town in Jisr Al-Shughour countryside, in the western countryside of Idlib.

According to SOHR sources, the Turkish border guards, “Jandarma,” who were stationed opposite Al-Yimdiah village in Latakia countryside, targeted the child while trying to enter Turkish territory from Al-Yamdia town, seriously injuring him.

The child was transferred to Idlib hospital and then transferred to Turkey for treatment owing to his critical injury.
