Anti-ISIS campaign | SDF backed by Coalition forces kill two ISIS members east of Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah province: SOHR activists have reported that SDF military force, backed by International Coalition forces, carried out a security operation on Tuesday dawn in Al-Baidar village in Al-Karamah district in eastern Al-Raqqah countryside.

SDF forces amid to arrest two ISIS leaders. However, the clashes erupted between the raiding force and the wanted men, leaving an ISIS member and his son dead, and another son injured.

This comes in light of escalated ISIS revenge attack following the “humanity and security” campaign in Al-Hawl camp,” which began last August 25.

 

Since the launch of the security campaign “Operation Humanitarian and Security,” by Internal Security Forces (Asayish) with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and International Coalition forces with the aim of pursuing and eliminating ISIS cells in Al-Hawl camp, south-east of Al-Hasakah, on August 25, ISIS has stepped up its attacks in areas controlled by “Autonomous Administration” of North and North-East Syria.

ISIS waged the first retaliatory operation on August 27 and has since managed to carry out 16 attacks till now, all documented by Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists.

According to SOHR statistics, ISIS killed 17 people from August 27 to September 19, and they are as follows:

• Three civilians, including a child.

• 14 members of SDF and other military formations operating in areas controlled by Autonomous Administration.

These attacks also left 11 SDF fighter injured.

ISIS retaliatory operations are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 14 attacks.

• Al-Hasakah: An attack.

• Al-Raqqah: one attack.
