After arresting and torturing him | Young man dies under beating by members of Turkish border guards

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a young man of “Al-Moshahda” tribe from Al-Ziyanat village in southern Al-Hasakah countryside, where members of Turkish border guards “Jandarma” brutally beat him, while he was crossing the Syrian-Turkish borders through Al-Aziziyah in western Ras Al-Ain countryside within “Peace Spring” area, to migrate to Europe.

It is worth noting that the young man was a part of a group comprising 14 persons, who were arrested and tortured by Turkish border guards, after crossing the “Peace Spring” area towards the Turkish borders via smuggling.

SOHR activists have reported that members of the Turkish border guards “Jandarma” arrested 14 people including women and children from Al-Hasakah, Al-Raqqa and Damascus, while they were trying to cross to Turksih territory via smuggling through Al-Adwaniyah village in Ras Al-Ain countryside within “Peace Spring” area.

Accordingly, the number of civilians who have been killed by Turkish Border Guards (Jandarma) in several areas near and on Syria-Turkey border since early 2022 has risen to 17, including three children, while 24 other civilians were injured including three children.
